Russell is Board Director of Amazon Instant Video Ltd and responsible for all marketing activity across Europe. From mass above-the-line advertising to 1-1 targeted advertising, Russell’s teams understand the necessary blend of art and science required to maximize the growth in paying customers and engagement across a wide range of different platforms from SmartTV’s to Games Consoles and Mobiles.
Previously, Russell was Board Director at LOVEFiLM and won New Brand Launch of the Year from the Marketing Society for the launch of LOVEFiLM Instant. The purchase of LOVEFiLM by Amazon in 2011 proved to be a big turning point with video proving to be a significant fly-wheel for the growth of Amazon Prime leading to a significant increase in investment in exclusive video content which Russell’s team has the honor and responsibility to launch. Content launches in the last couple of years have included 2016 BAFTA winning Transparent, Ridley Scott produced Man in the High Castle, David E. Kelley created Goliathstarring Billy-Bob Thornton and Woody Allen’s Crisis in Six Scenes. The team are, of course, looking forward to the upcoming launch campaign of The Grand Tour, starring Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.
