This year, Promax UK IS VERY PROUD TO BE WORKING WITH CHANGE
CHANGE is a user-led charity working for equal rights for those with learning difficulties.
CHANGE supports staff, volunteers, trainers and consultants with learning difficulties by producing accessible information, running training and workshops, alongside promoting and campaigning for the rights of this minority group.
One of the major campaigns currently running is called “Power Changers!”, an initiative which aims to tackle disability hate crime by challenging negative attitudes towards disabled people - and it is this campaign which CHANGE are looking to the Promax community to promote.
People with learning difficulties and autism are sadly often targeted by perpetrators of hate crime who use their power to control and abuse disabled people. These hate crimes have a tremendous impact on the lives of victims who are often too frightened to come forward to report these crimes.
Power Changers aims to empower victims and changing the power balance back in favour of the disabled - challenging discrimination and negative attitudes towards all disabled people.
